Winter's First Breath ............... Finished!
Glad to say that I didn't run away from the easel too often (my Tellytubby reflex) and so Winter's First Breath is finished. As I mentioned in my last post I wanted to achieve bands of colour and texture. It really was a stormy sky just before a snow storm and I found the trees silhouetted against the sky a very stark image.
Hope you are getting that feeling of icyness (is that a word?) creeping in. After this everything went white, I've never tried a pastel painting of snow, so maybe that's next on the cards!
Winter's First Breath
50cm x 65cm, Pastel
It sounds so strange, but do think I can smell the seasons and the seasons changing (freaky?). Here there was definitely a smell of snow on it's way; it arrived with the storm. This is an enlarged detail from the pastel painting.
