snow White and Rose Red in Pastel
Today a bit of sunlight is peeping through the clouds and temperatures are rising, thank goodness, time for Snow White and Rose Red!

Snow White And Rose Red
Pastel 50cm x 65cm
As you can see, I did go for spreading a little ''snow spray'' as I mentioned on Wednesday, I laid the painting flat, sprayed the areas I wanted snow spray to appear on with fixative and with a fine kitchen grater I grated white pastel onto the tops of the grasses and bushes. Where I felt it was OTT, I blew the dust gently off and then one more squoosh of fix to keep the white dust in place. Here a wee close up,
It is also possible to see just how many colours I have used to create the dogwood bushes, in the stems there are layers of green, brown, black, purple, blue, turquoise and green, helping to create the dense bush effect.
Have you had piles of snow this year? We really haven't had that much which is par for the course here in northern Germany. Living in Bavaria for years was different, I remember shovelling the driveway up to our house free five times a day. Not being a skier, it really didn’t float my boat, my attempts at sledging were also a disaster, but hey what can you expect from a girl from the temperate west coast of Scotland!
On one memorable occasion we were out sledging on a huge slope, for my daughter and hubby, no problem! I managed to hit the only tree on the vast hill; shaken but not stirred, I prefer my ice in my G&T and not in the landscape!
