Meadow Melee!

In the midst of copious piles of post holiday washing, I squashed in a couple of hours of painting to get this one finished!

Meadow Melee!

And there’s that woolly Burdock, like cotton wool balls all a fluff! I love the name woolly Burdock, sounds like some kind of Scottish breed of sheep. Ah yes, there you can see the hardy woolly Burdock frolicking in the fields, famous for its exceptional coat, it’s a breed well loved in the Highlands.
Here we are in close up!

Yes, the Burdock does look like thistles but the flowers are a bit more intense magenta.
Speaking of fields and animals, we had a rather posh neighbour in Scotland who told me that one of her favourite games as a child was waiting barefoot across the burn (Scottish for stream)  in eager anticipation for a cow in the field beyond (how do I say this politely) to produce a cow pat ….. the first to jump in barefoot while the pat was steaming, was the winner! I can just imagine the faces of today’s kids listening to this, having said that, I found it pretty disgusting too. I suppose nowadays you could do it virtually or make a trend sport out of it …. extreme Cow Pat Parcour, can sell everything as a trend sport nowadays, you just need some nifty brand clothing and equipment and before you know it Cow Pat Parcour could go Olympic!
Just remember you read it here first!
