Oooops! Missed my cue!

Guess who has lost track of the days of the week! As April seems to have 4576 days, I forgot to blog yesterday thinking it was Tuesday. Any hoo, here we are

Winter Maelstrom

All that wirbly water, swooshing around and icy reflections. I must say I enjoy wintery palettes but now everything is bursting into colour which is lovely too. Speaking of bursting, this lockdown is bra busting ..... my overgenerous assets are exploding and my bra supply is depleting at a rapid rate, help! I may have to resort to self construction; two pillowcases, a couple of sturdy fence posts and a lot of industrial strength wire should do the job! I suppose that’s one advantage of self-isolation, nobody gets to see your underpinnings :))
Getting back to my painting, here is a close up

Those leached branches were fun to do, lots of delicate twists, and there is the crux of it! I love lines and colour, so my work is always about the balance between a good line and fabulous colour (sometimes it is more of a battle!)
Pastels of course always tempt you into using swathes of yummy colour but I can’t resist a good line and so I am always seeking the harmony between both without losing looseness!
Now time to sort the bra problem and then get into a Spring mindset!
