Shameless Summer Blues!

Managed to get my pastel painting finished; Shameless Summer Blues, taaaadaaaa!

Shameless Summer Blues! 

The focus is really on the movement of the grasses (I hope) and yes, they drove me bonkers! I can obsess for hours on the negative space between two blades of grass, not only can obsess but did obsess. Stroke over stroke and then negative space, nahhh, negative space in then not satisfied with the blades of grass, blades of grass not happy with the negative space, blades of grass ...... you get the idea! Had to take it off the easel and sign it to stop me thwacking on more pastel. 

Great to see it finished but of course that leaves the easel empty, something that I hate! I have an inner promise to myself never to have an empty easel but it is what it is............ time to search for some new inspiration!
