Still Got the Blues for You!

Just remembered, I still hadn’t posted my complete holiday blues page! And here it is! 

You can see where my tears fell upon my sketch of the Sheikh  Zayed Mosque! Just kidding, I blotted my copybook as I often tend to do! 

The late Queen visited the sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in 2010 and I couldn’t help thinking about the complete contrast between this breathtaking building and the Rivergate Shopping Centre in Irvine which she visited in 1979 and I saw her and Prince Philip. I was on duty as a Red Cross cadet and the buzz was just amazing somehow though I think it must be tricky to look fascinated by yet another Boots the Chemists! 

Security, police, masses of people, cheers, flags and a quick glimpse of the Royal couple as they passed! Ah yes, the joys of visiting shopping centres ….. to all of you who think the Royals do nothing for their money, just think about having a bad hair day, a row with your better half and then squashing yourself into your posh frock and shoes, donning your titfer and out you go to open yet another abattoir! Nope, no envy there. 

I finally managed to put away my beach cover up and sighed as I folded up for this year! Never had travel felt so good. To be honest, it’s probably time to shake the last sand out of my sandals, it’s been chucking it down here, so I don’t think they’ll come into use this year again but putting them at the back of the wardrobe feels so final. 

Never mind, there’s always next year and as summers go, this was a belter!
