Those Blues Always Catch Me

I've discovered that those blues draw me in every time and so I'm starting a new pastel painting based on my photos of the river bank taken a couple of weeks ago. This time I discovered a ripple on the water behind the grasses and that has become my focal point. 

Unfortunately, the light doesn’t reflect the true colour of my Sennelier support which is midnight blue! I'm loving that pool of blue light on the left and am hoping that it remains when the detail on the grasses kicks in. 

Just in case I lose it under a myriad of grasses and colours let’s celebrate it for the blue that it is! Speaking of which it is a Unison blue 1/2 Stick and isn’t it spectacular?
